Teachers’ Upskilling aiming aT a hOlistic inclusivity in leaRning

The project "TUTOR" includes the creation and implementation of a training programme and a curriculum for educators and teachers of secondary and post-secondary schools, as well as vocational training and further education centres in relation to inclusion.

Project objectives

The aim of the project is:

  • to create future-oriented further education and training courses for teachers and pedagogical staff in order to create an inclusive atmosphere for ALL in the classroom and subsequently in the whole school
  • to improve and internationalise teacher training in Europe
  • to promote holistic inclusion in the learning environment, taking into account all aspects such as tolerance, non-discrimination, flexibility, etc.

ÖJAB supports the project as one of the central partners and draws on its know-how and expertise from many years of experience in training various target groups. Together with another Austrian partner, ÖJAB will evaluate a nationwide inventory of the current situation, possible problems and omissions, as well as concrete guidelines and ideas for structural changes, and implement them at the national level.

More than 800 (future and trained) teachers and educators will be trained via an e-learning platform and partly in face-to-face teaching sessions lasting several days in the respective partner country.

Project target group

The term inclusion in the project context focuses in particular on the following target groups of disadvantaged children and young people concerning:

  • with a problematic socio-economic background
  • migrants
  • LGBTQI+ community

The role of the teacher, not only in terms of teaching, but especially in shaping the character and values of students, is one that should not be underestimated. Therefore, it should be seen as a cornerstone for social change.

Newsletter

Other project partner countries are: Ireland, Belgium, Greece and Turkey.
