ÖJAB goes classic – apply now until February 15
- Thursday, 20.11.2025
As a social and non-profit organization, ÖJAB has been committed to education, opportunities, and solidarity for decades – in Austria and around the world. With the project “ÖJAB goes CLASSIC,” initiated by students from the ÖJAB-Haus Meidling, the unifying power of music takes center stage.
For the benefit chamber music concert on April 23, 2026, ÖJAB is looking for chamber music ensembles, which can apply for participation from now until February 15, 2026.
ÖJAB goes CLASSIC” is a charity project that brings classical music closer to young people while also doing good. In the context of the benefit chamber music concert, dedicated young musicians will showcase their talents and combine their passion for music with social engagement.
The collected donations will support two important initiatives:
- ÖJAB’s development cooperation in Burkina Faso, which provides local youth with access to education and vocational training.
- The Lang Lang International Music Foundation, which supports talented young musicians on their artistic journey.
As a token of appreciation, all participants will receive a certificate at the end of the concert recognizing their contribution to this social and cultural project.
All chamber music ensembles are warmly invited to apply and become part of this special initiative. Applications are open now until February 15, 2026.
Participation Requirements
- Applications are open to all ensembles with at least one current resident of an ÖJAB student residence.
- Each ensemble must consist of at least two members, and all members must be at least 18 years old.
Dates & Timeline
- Submission deadline: February 15, 2026
- Preselection results by the jury: by March 8, 2026
- Stage rehearsals in March/April (exact dates to be announced)
- For the concert, which will take place on April 23, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Antonio Vivaldi Hall in the ÖJAB-Haus Johannesgasse, 3 ensembles will be selected by the jury (each ensemble will perform for 20–25 minutes).
