How long does my resident agreement run, and how can I renew it?

Resident agreements typically cover one academic year. Provided we have free space, you’ll always be welcome to renew your agreement for your next semester or academic year. Your house management will send you agreement renewal information in a timely manner. For first-year students, there is also the option of concluding a two-year resident agreement.

Can I terminate my resident agreement?

Yes, in accordance with the periods for giving notice specified in the contract.

You have the option of terminating your housing contract prematurely effective at the end of February or at the end of June. Termination at the end of February must be requested by 30 November, and termination at the end of June must be requested by 30 April.

What all is included in the use fee?

The use fee includes all operating costs associated with your dorm room or share thereof — i.e., heating, water, electricity, Internet access, and cleaning.

Use of washing machines and dryers is not included in the use fee.

Use of the communal rooms (with the exception of exercise rooms and saunas) is free.

Whether or not the use of exercise rooms and/or saunas is included in the use fee or a small fee is charged for use depends on the dormitory. To learn more, please get in touch directly with the house management of the ÖJAB dorm that interests you. Contact information for the house management of a given dormitory can be found in that dorm’s profile at https://www.oejab.at/en/students/dormitories. (Click on the dormitory you’re interested in and scroll all the way down to “CONTACT & ADDRESS.”)

Do you have resident parking spaces?

In several dormitories, we do offer reasonably priced above-ground or garage parking spaces for cars. For more information, please contact your house management. Contact information for the house management of a given dormitory can be found in that dorm’s profile at https://www.oejab.at/en/students/dormitories. How do I go about paying the monthly use fee?

When you move in, you’ll receive a SEPA direct debit mandate to fill out. The use fee will be deducted from your account on the 5th of each month.

It is also possible to pay cash in well-justified individual cases.
